Ryan Fonseca is an independent journalist and videographer working in Los Angeles. He earned a Bachelor of Arts degree in broadcast journalism from California State University, Northridge in 2011.
Ryan is fluent in a broad range of journalism mediums and has experience in local, national, and international news. He has reported on a number of topics, including small business, prescription drug abuse, food culture, and green initiatives in the Los Angeles area.
Ryan worked for seven months at Current TV with Vanguard Documentary Series. He assisted with several investigative news documentaries, covering issues such as the Mexican drug war, PTSD in U.S. combat troops, illegal immigration, and Big Tobacco's seedy marketing in developing nations.
Most recently, Ryan co-produced a short documentary about a non-profit veterinary clinic that provides free health care to pets of the homeless in Los Angeles. The story can be viewed here.
Ryan then worked for 89.3 KPCC in Pasadena on the digital team, where he developed multimedia projects, contributed local news reports, and managed the stations various social media outlets.
